Tips & Tricks

Our greatest piece of advice would be, don’t be put off by the big players. This is a big and board industry, but there is a place for everyone, and everyone has to start somewhere.

At LLCS, we know how to do it the right way because we’ve been doing it a long time. It’s an art to be mastered, and we know you’ll be excelling in no time. The heart of working with waxes and fragrance oils though, is all in the testing. We can give you the tools and the tutorials, but it’s up to you to decide what works best for your creative style. Mistakes are unavoidable, but they’re also extremely valuable. Afterall, you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

To get you started, here are our top tips for a new starter:

Try a fragrance load between 8% - 10% and resist going stronger – trust us, it’s a health a safety hazard.

Blending wax and fragrance oils is best at around 70 degrees celcius.

Pouring melted wax is at its prime time at approximately 60 degrees celcius.

Use our Wick Guides – they’re a lifesaver.

Make the most of our fragrance oil sample sizes, it can help you find your favourites.
