Candle Wax Faqs

Choosing the best candle wax is a personal preference, as each type offers its own benefits.

Soy wax is popular for eco-friendly candles, paraffin wax is known for its strong scent throw and is ideal for pillar candles, while coconut wax is often used for clean white finishes and a more luxury aesthetic.
For wax melts, we highly recommend A27 Performance Soy Wax due to its excellent scent throw and performance.

If you’re looking for a more natural alternative, A05 Cocosoy or S16 Deluxe Soy are great options. These waxes may require cooling in a colder environment to ensure they fully harden before removal from moulds.
Candle wax should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Keeping wax in stable conditions helps maintain its quality and ensures consistent results when melting and pouring.
We recommend S100 Pure Soy Wax for beginners.

It’s a natural container wax that helps you learn the fundamentals of candle making. Once you can confidently work with this wax, it gives you a strong foundation to progress onto other wax types.
Generally, no.

Container candles require a softer wax that adheres well to the glass, while pillar candles need a harder wax to hold their shape.

For pillar candles, we recommend PM7 Pillar Wax , alongside a suitable container wax for jar candles.
A27 Performance Soy Wax is one of the most widely used waxes in the UK for candle refill systems.

It offers great performance, smooth finishes, and reliable scent throw.
Paraffin wax is a mineral-based wax known for its strong scent throw and consistent performance.

Soy wax is a natural wax made from soybean oil, often chosen for its eco-friendly appeal and cleaner burn.

Both have their place depending on your candle goals and branding.
Neither is strictly “better” — it depends on your priorities.

Soy wax is ideal for natural, eco-conscious brands, while paraffin wax is preferred when maximum scent throw and performance are the priority.
Soy wax can naturally develop frosting or sweating due to temperature changes.

This is a cosmetic effect and does not impact the performance of the candle.

Stable pouring and storage conditions can help reduce this.
Most candle waxes should be melted between 70°C and 85°C, but this can vary depending on the specific wax.

Always check the recommended guidelines for your chosen wax for best results.
