Making Moments with Chasing Moonbeams

It has been a while since we have blogged one of our lovely chats with our customers for Makers Moments and Memoirs, so if you are reading this, you are in for a lovely read!

We have had the chance to speak to the lovely, Amanda Stanhope who is the founder of Chasing Moonbeams, a unique and luxury company who sell a range of products and are immensely proud to be vegan. When asked what inspired Amanda to start making candles, her response was that it was when she found London Luxury Candle Supplies. When Amanda came across our website, she instantly fell in love with our glassware (going to be slightly biased here but we can understand why!). At this point, Amanda already had a website that was selling silver jewellery with unique quotes. Amanda was looking to branch out a little and add something different to her online store, so she was looking for some oil burners. This was when she came across our glassware and melt burners. Lockdown had just begun, and Amanda thought why not try and learn how to make a candle?!             

                                              

Amanda began to watch our YouTube videos and ordered one of our Candle Making booklets along with our Candle Making Starter Kit and Amanda has never looked back! After hearing this, we were so pleased to hear that her very first inspirational moment started with us, and that we are now able to watch her grow and shine.

Chasing Moonbeams is a name that Amanda came up with years ago and loved it so much that she had it registered and trademarked. Amanda wanted a craft-based business and loved the idea of chasing your dreams, so this is how she came up with Chasing Moonbeams (lovely, right?!).

Chasing Moonbeams has two ideal customers, first one being someone who is very much into spirituality and crystals, which Amanda says these types of customers tend to usually be aged 25 – 45. Her ideal customer is a crystal lover and loves holistic healing. Customers like this tend to buy the crystal candles and the crystal wax melts. Amanda’s other perfect customer is someone who loves natural, pure soy and luxury products, usually again, aged 25-45, these types of customers are a different buyer to those who like colour paraffin melts as they love natural and eco-friendly products. Their fragrance preference is unique and luxury high end scents, for example, Jo Malone. These types of customers are not into perfume dupes.

Amanda revealed some exciting news for Chasing Moonbeams as they have sent their very first wholesale order to Cyprus to a luxury high end candle store who supply 5* resorts on the Island, Amanda believes that this is their ideal customer! To have achieved that, Amanda and her team deserve a huge congratulations! So, well done to you and your team at Chasing Moonbeams!!

"S100 Pure Soy Wax is a must; we make all of our products from this!"

Chasing Moonbeams best sellers are their crystal candles, wax melt clamshells and of course, the cheetah and dalmatian print candles and wax melt burners! Chasing Moonbeams use S100 Pure Soy Wax for all their products, and they would never defer from using anything else, as stated it is a Pure Soy and this is a must for their brand ethos. Chasing Moonbeams have tried other brands of pure soy wax but none of them work as well, or the end results were not as good.

                                                                                                    

When it comes to choosing scents at Chasing Moonbeams, they are very selective and only choose sophisticated luxury fragrances that are strong, unusual, and different to other people if possible. Amanda could not highlight enough how much she loved our range of scents as they are unique. Chasing Moonbeams stock most of our scents and their customers love them.

                                               

Not only does Amanda speak so highly of our selection of scents, but also the animal print wax melt burners were also the heat of the conversation too, Chasing Moonbeams love them because they are so unique and cannot be found anywhere else! This was also reflected when it came to speaking about our range of candle jars too, Chasing Moonbeams have trialled different candle jars to see which jars their customers like.

So, we wanted to find out if Amanda had any tips for any newbies starting out and to see what she has learnt since starting her candle journey with us. This is Amanda’s advice:  

• Buy a Candle Making Starter Kit because it is not as easy as it looks. Amanda said it took her months for Chasing Moonbeams to get their perfect candle, mainly due to the scientific part, temperatures, and weights.
• Try to be different and find a niche because the industry is extremely competitive
• Do not give up, there is room for everyone!
